Eid Ul Kabir, Touba

Eïd el Kébir prayer was celebrated in the Holy City of TOUBA on Friday, 10th day of the sacred month of Dhûl Hijjah corresponding to December 21st, 2007. The Imam Ratib Serigne Muhammadu Mamoune Bousso led the prayer at the usual prayer place of the two festivals at the East wing of Mosque of TOUBA.
At his arrival at 9: AM the Imam found as usual several religious authorities, the grandsons of Serigne TOUBA, and dignitaries piously listening to Serigne Modou Sy chanting Xassaids. Administrative authorities under the leadership of the Assistant prefect of Ndam as well as local authorities of whom several advisers celebrated this prayer together in the presence of a crowd of faithful from around the neighboring districts.

 

The prayer which took place at 9:30 was followed by the integral sermon of the Imam, which ended the ceremony while proceeding to the ritual of the sacrifice, before the faithful in turn perpetuate this act once home. The national TV, RTS, covered the event.

At the end of the prayer, some religious authorities paid a visit of courtesy in Caliph Shaykh Saliou MBACKE at the time of this day, like several other disciples who celebrated the prayer at the residence of Caliph. Among these authorities one could notice: - Serigne Sidy MBACKE Bin Serigne Abdul Ahad accompanied by his brother Serigne Saliou. - Serigne Shaykh MBACKE Bin Serigne Saliou accompanied-Serigne Shaykh Mbacke Bin Serigne Saliou accompanied by his brother Serigne Mustapha Saliou- Serigne Mame Mor Mbacke Bin Serigne Muhammadu Mourtada Mbacke.

The academy of Daara Hizbut-Tarqiyyah ensured a beautiful declamation of Xassaids after the prayer ritual until Zhuhr prayer time, resumed it after the prayer, till the end of the Ziarra (visit) to the Caliph who said prayers for all. The encounter with the caliph caused the joy of the disciples, who wished him a longer and healthier life. Let us recall that today with the urban development accompanied by an increase of districts development, the places of celebration of the two festivals have considerably multiplied.
