Magal Serigne Abdou Rahmaan Lo, Ndam

Serigne Ndam Abdu Rahmane Lo (1853- 1942) will be remembered, on January 20th, 2007 by his family, under the aegis of the caliph, Serigne Bassirou Abdu Rahmane Lo, together with the rest of the Murid community in Senegal and around the world.
In 1892 Serigne Ndam was asked by the Shaykh together with Serigne Massamba Diop, Serigne Ibrahima Sarr and Shaykh Ibrahima Fall, to reunite with their families, for he was satisfied with them as well as Allah (SWT) and His prophet Muhammad (SAWS). That decision of the Shaykh coincided with the birth of Mouhamadu Lamine Bara Mbacke.

He couldn’t depart from the Shaykh until the latter reassured him about their bonds which relieved Serigne Ndam and gave him more confidence in his new mission he was entrusted with by the Shaykh,as the one in charge of the Quranic education of the Shaykh’s family and relatives and any other disciple recommended by the Shakh. Whereas Serigne Mbacke Bousso was responsible for their mastery of the Islamic sciences at the Al Ahzar school located in Guede.
Daraa Alimoul Kabir run by Serigne Ndam became the main Muridiyya epicentre of Quranic education, where he initiated to the Quran a whole generation of savants like Serigne Mouhamadu Mustapha, the first caliph of Serigne Touba, Serigne Fallou, Serigne Bara, Serigne Bassirou to name a few.
A disciple of the first hour, his contributions to Muridiya can’t be related in these lines; his achievements are innumerable and every disciple have heard of his invetments in achieving the Shakh's satisfactions, and we all know how much he cherished the Shaykh and his family, not to mention the high level of respect he displayed whenever he was consulted by the Shaykh on matters regarding decisions he should take, and anytime a Ndigueul (recommendation) was to be executed.
His family is honorably perpetuating his legacy and will be paying him tribute. The event will be marked by Quran Reading and Recitals, Xassaids Chanting, all day and all night.
